About us
Objectives of the Saxony's network initiatives: “We want to...
- overcome the size-related disadvantages of Saxon enterprises – that is, the small-scale structures;
- support the sustained development of entire value creation chains having potential for development in the core branches of Saxony’s industry;
- provide impulses through the transnational integration of companies and networks, in particular with Central and Eastern European countries.”
That is why Saxony’s network initiatives support the cooperative efforts of companies and promote the formation of temporary networks. You will find more information on additional network initiatives and associations at: Branch Information.
Responsibilities and Services
The central starting point of AMZ’s work is innovation: In order to strengthen the competitiveness of Saxony’s automotive supply industry, AMZ has been appointed to strategically assist commercial enterprises which are striving to become acknowledged, globally active, and neutral partners providing solutions for the international automobile industry.
This objective has been pursued continuously since 1999 when the activities commenced. While establishing cooperations and communicating the needs and requirements of the automobile industry were in the focus of Phase I, special emphasis was put on the strategic fields of competence and on international commitment in Phase II.
The network initiative commenced with Phase III on January 1, 2008. By 2012, its work will be geared towards a more precise strategy with new objectives. The key competence of the Saxon supply industry and, thus, the central starting point of AMZ’s work is and continues to be innovation.
Since AMZ’s launch in October 1999, it has achieved a sustained economic impact due to substantial project activities (last update on Novembr 30, 2011):
- 284 projects (of which 158 were cooperative projects and 49 were development projects) were initiated and assisted.
- 1.064 companies participated.
- 297 presentations were held at such target customers as OEMs and first-tier suppliers.
- 693 suppliers were nominated by AMZ in 70 vendor selection projects.
A potential turnover of approx. 2.734 billion euros will be generated from cooperative and development projects in the foreseeable future. This equals a potential of 5,220 new jobs.
