Human Resources: ProfiSACHS

The link between the development and fostering of competences and technologies is indispensable in the automobile value creation chain.

In addition to innovation and global customer orientation, strategic human resource management is another key factor for the successful development of small and mid-sized enterprises and, thus, a direct component of AMZ’s network activities.

Product and process innovations are the key to successful positioning on the market. Specifically such technology-driven key branches as the automobile industry need competent personnel on a permanent basis for continuously evolving requirements.

Recruiting Skilled Employees – Fostering Skilled Employees – Retaining Skilled Employees

Solutions for the recruitment of skilled employees in the automotive supply industry are developed and perspectives for the long-term retention of qualified personnel are outlined within the scope of the ProfiSachs pilot project which was launched just recently.

“Those who apply network thinking net more fish in the end” – In close cooperation with the participating network initiatives, current trends are to be highlighted, ideas generated, and partnerships formed for the implementation of trendsetting projects.

Over the past few years, automobile construction has grown above average in Saxony.  Looking back on an eventful and changeful history rich in tradition, Saxon automobile construction is well positioned between an exciting present and a very promising future.  Quality, reliability, and innovation characterize the products and services of the most important economic branch which makes a vital contribution to this positive trend and is primarily shaped by small-scale corporate structures.

Currently, however, the small and mid-sized enterprises of the supply industry are not yet considered to be attractive employers.  The orientation towards first-tier suppliers and OEMs is particularly decisive for adolescents.

According to a survey conducted by the Institute for Labor Market and Occupational Research (IAB), 75 percent of all companies in the Free State anticipate filling new positions for skilled employees either through hiring new staff and/or in-house measures over the next two years*.

That is why it is indispensable to firmly establish strategic human resource management as a vital contribution to maintaining and/or increasing the innovative ability of the enterprises in Saxony’s core industrial branches and, thus, within the AMZ network initiative.
