Interior Hub for Sustainable Mobility (InSum)

As part of the automotive transformation, the interior is undergoing a fundamental change, becoming the center of future vehicle generations. The presented hub, InSuM, analyzes the relevant megatrends such as autonomous driving, electrification, connected cars, and shared mobility with regard to the redesign of the interior, linking it to the sustainability requirements of the materials used in the vehicle and the associated production processes along the value chain.

To successfully navigate this demanding transformation, the consortium partners, automotive thüringen, AMZ Netzwerk Automobilzulieferer Sachsen, the Automotive Cluster of Bayern Innovativ, and TUCed as an affiliated institute for transfer and continuing education at TU Chemnitz, aim to ensure the networking of all relevant stakeholders through suitable transfer instruments. They seek to intensify knowledge transfer for the automotive and supplier industry across regions and provide support in scaling R&D solutions. Specifically, they plan to organize cross-industry networking formats, workshops for research result transfer, comprehensive trend and market analyses, and a digital platform for nationwide exchange. They also aim to involve additional stakeholders from the field of sustainable interior design.
